A Beginner’s Guide to SSC Exams
The Staff Selection Commission runs several distinct recruitment exams — covering clerical, inspector, and multi-tasking roles among others — each with its own tier structure, typically starting with an objective preliminary exam followed by one or more further stages.
A common feature across SSC exams is the emphasis on speed as well as accuracy, since preliminary tiers are usually attempted within a tight time limit across general awareness, quantitative aptitude, reasoning and English sections.
Because SSC releases detailed previous-year cutoffs and answer keys, comparing your own practice-test performance against a few recent years’ cutoffs is a practical way to judge readiness before the actual exam.
