A Guide to Bank Recruitment Exams in India
Most Indian banking recruitment exams follow a two-stage objective format: a shorter Preliminary exam that acts as a qualifier, followed by a more detailed Mains exam that carries the greater weight toward the final result.
Quantitative aptitude, reasoning and English are near-universal across banking Prelims papers, while Mains papers typically add general/banking awareness and, for some exams, a descriptive or computer-knowledge component.
Sectional time limits are common in banking exams, meaning candidates must clear a minimum bar within each section rather than only an overall cutoff — which makes balanced preparation across sections more important than being strong in only one area.
